Dear GroupFilm members,

I have not emailed you like this in a long time it seems; however, I do now have an update! With thanks to David Sexton, I have created the scene that uses screen capture technology to show the instant messaging between our main character, Sarah and the Internet weirdo, Chris. I played the girl and ...

i imagine a really really short scene. along david's lines to not introduce early so i don't want to introduce either character in this first scene) or rather introduce woman through her possessions)

then

After next week we should be able to start casting the film. I have written a short ad to place on the net to attract actors to be involved in the project. As we are pretty much discussing everything, does anyone have any ideas/comments/improvements????

We are looking for an actor to play the part of _______ in a brand new ground breaking short film project that will explore the use of internet related technology during production of a film. ...

The story idea is as follows. Sarah is a 26 year old single woman. She keeps an online video blog. She has recently turned her attention to the online world for comfort and to look for companionship. She chats to various people from all over the world, however she has never met any of these people in the "real world". She has recently been talking to someone online called Chris. Things were going OK to start with, until Chris starts to act obsessive and intense. What is the story behind ...

Script Direction

An initial thought on reading the script was that it would make interesting viewing, if the characters had history with each other. But one of them was unaware with whom they were communicating over the internet. I.e. one of them was posing as someone else.

Having read the script, it seems more suitable for the male to be taking on the guise of someone else. Hence his obsessive and over the top behaviour.

Just a thought...

GroupFilm is an online collaborative film project where writers, actors and filmmakers are invited to take part in creating a short film using primarily internet technology during production. This can mean webcam, mobile phones, youtube, email, social networking sites, discussion forums, wiki's etc.

As the director, I give a genre or short outline of a story idea to the online community. The writers then collaborate to develop a screenplay which will then be carried out by actors using the ...
